FPIs Withdraw ₹48,056 Crore from Indian Equities in October

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have withdrawn ₹48,056 crore from Indian equities in October so far, primarily due to high crude oil prices and rising geopolitical tensions. Despite this significant outflow, FPIs showed signs of easing selling pressure by becoming net buyers on two trading days last week. According to depository data, the majority of the outflows, totaling ₹53,337 crore, were from sales on stock exchanges, while investments in the primary market still saw inflows of ₹5,281 crore. In the debt market, FPIs infused ₹3,737 crore into debt securities, but also experienced mixed trends with withdrawals from other routes totaling ₹6,190 crore.
