Cabinet Approves 78-Day Productivity Linked Bonus for Railway Employees

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for railway employees, amounting to 78 days' wages, totaling Rs.2009.61 crore. This bonus will benefit approximately 1.14 million non-gazetted railway employees and is intended to recognize their excellent performance. The payment is typically made before the Durga Puja/Dusshera holidays, with each eligible employee receiving a maximum of Rs.17,951. The decision reflects the railway's strong performance in the previous year, which included record cargo loading and passenger numbers.
