DRI seizes 591 kg of cannabis smuggled from Nepal in major trafficking bust
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 591.3 kg of cannabis smuggled from Nepal during an operation in Uttar Pradesh on October 17-18, 2026. DRI officers, acting on specific intelligence, conducted surveillance on a truck suspected of transporting the drugs and intercepted it after identifying the vehicle on the road between Gorakhpur and Kushinagar. A search revealed 81 packets of ganja hidden in specially fabricated compartments within the truck. The operation underscores the DRI's commitment to combating cross-border narcotics trafficking.
