Ayush Innovation Reports Eightfold Increase in Patent Filings
Ayush-related innovation in India has seen a remarkable eightfold increase in patent filings, with a total of 4,077 applications submitted and 711 patents granted from FY 2014–15 to FY 2025–26. This data was highlighted in the Status Report on Ayush Related Inventions in India, released on October 16, 2026, during the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations. Maharashtra emerged as the leader in this sector, accounting for 744 filings and 142 grants. Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav emphasized the government's commitment to fostering an environment that integrates traditional knowledge with modern research and innovation.
