Department of Pharmaceuticals Forms Committee to Review Marketing Practices
The Department of Pharmaceuticals has established a committee to review pharmaceutical marketing practices, as announced by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers on October 23, 2026. Chaired by Dr. M. Srinivas from NITI Aayog, the committee includes members such as Smt. Preeti Sudan and Dr. Naresh Trehan. Its mandate is to examine the current regulatory framework and recommend improvements to enhance oversight and curb unethical practices in the pharmaceutical sector. The committee is expected to submit its report within two months of its first meeting.
