NRC 268 and NRC 270 Soybean Varieties Show Potential for 20 Quintals per Hectare Yield Despite Weather Challenges

The ICAR–National Soybean Research Institute in Indore reported promising yields of 20 quintals per hectare for improved soybean varieties NRC 268 and NRC 270, despite adverse weather conditions. This assessment took place during the Soybean Harvest Day on October 9, 2026, where preliminary data was collected from one-acre plots of each variety. The findings are significant as they suggest a potential increase in soybean productivity, which currently averages 10-11 quintals per hectare in India. The research aims to evaluate the performance of these varieties and enhance overall soybean yields in the country.
