NCSC Mandates Reporting for SC Beneficiaries in Key Financial Schemes

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has successfully prompted the Department of Financial Services to mandate the reporting of assistance provided to Scheduled Caste beneficiaries under key financial schemes. This directive requires State Level Bankers’ Committees and Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committees to include detailed reports on the number and percentage of beneficiaries in their periodic reviews. They must also share this information with the NCSC and submit an action-taken report by October 9, 2026. The initiative aims to enhance transparency and consistency in the reporting process using existing data from banks and implementing agencies.
