WWF-India Launches Green Diwali Campaign, Urging Cracker-Free Celebrations from October 20 to November 8, 2026

WWF-India, supported by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has launched a nationwide Green Diwali Campaign from October 20 to November 8, 2026, promoting a cracker-free celebration. The initiative targets schools, colleges, and local communities, particularly in 130 cities under the National Clean Air Programme. Participants are encouraged to take the Green Diwali Pledge, which includes commitments to avoid firecrackers, use eco-friendly lighting, and reduce plastic waste.
