Kanda Express to Connect Agartala, Boost Onion Supply in North-East
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is launching the first-ever Kanda Express to Agartala to improve onion availability in the North-East. This initiative will deliver approximately 440 MT of buffer onions, expected to arrive by September 18, 2026. The effort aims to enhance the distribution network and ensure affordable prices ahead of the festive season, following previous successful shipments to Assam. The initiative will benefit seven of Tripura's eight districts, reinforcing the government's commitment to improving access to essential food supplies.
