CBN M.P. Unit Seizes 4.2 Tonnes of Poppy Straw, Arrests Three
The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) in Madhya Pradesh seized over 4.2 tonnes of poppy straw and arrested three individuals during two operations conducted last week. On October 5, 2026, CBN officers intercepted a container truck on the Udaipur–Chittorgarh highway, recovering 929.08 kg of poppy straw hidden beneath plastic sacks. In a separate operation, they also seized additional poppy straw from a Tata truck on the Gandhisagar–Bhanpura road. These actions are part of the CBN's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
