Union Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Sudhansh Pant, inaugurated a Five-Day Geriatric Care Training Programme in Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu on October 9, 2026. The program aims to enhance the skills of Anganwadi workers and frontline functionaries in geriatric care, focusing on early identification of care needs and referral support for senior citizens. Organized by the National Institute of Social Defence in collaboration with local authorities, the initiative seeks to strengthen community-based support for the elderly. Dignitaries including Joint Secretaries from the Ministry and the Collector of Diu also attended the event.
