Committee in MoSPI Issues Recommendations for Future-Ready Data Leaders
The Committee for Reforming Capacity Building of the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) submitted its report to Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), on October 22, 2026. Chaired by Sh. P. R. Meshram, the committee included senior MoSPI officers and industry experts who reviewed current training programs and identified future capacity building needs. Their recommendations align with the Competency Based Capacity Building framework of Mission Karmayogi, addressing the evolving roles of ISS officers in data governance and advanced analytics. This report aims to enhance the training framework to support evidence-based policymaking and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
