Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana Enhances Care and Support for Seniors
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is enhancing support for senior citizens through the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana, which includes the Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens (IPSrC). This initiative currently funds 764 Senior Citizen Homes, 13 Continuous Care Homes, 17 Mobile Medicare Units, and 3 Physiotherapy Clinics. Financial assistance of ₹19.58 lakh annually is provided to eligible organizations to improve outreach and service delivery for elderly individuals. The program focuses on ensuring shelter and care for indigent seniors while also promoting their overall well-being through various healthcare services.
